Purple Magic
As I’m walking through a field that’s dark and mysterious, I’m finally spoken to by my paranormal figure. I’m the only one in this bizarre town who hasn’t had my Teenage Paranormal Experience, and yes, it deserves the uppercase letters because EVERYONE has had one for as long as we can remember. It’s a part of our LIVES.
Every child is assigned a colour at birth. Everyone is a category; Red for children who wind up being religious and hardworking, green for naturists and adventurous people, blue for the lost children who have a hard time succeeding, and, the most important colour, Purple. Purple symbolizes all the signs combined so like a wild card. They never find out who they’re going to be until the teenage experience. An experience that shapes us into who we will be as adults. Nobody has EVER seen a different colour of paranormal unless they were purple and that colour is what they would live by forever.
I’m 22. I haven’t had a paranormal experience yet and people say it’s abnormal. If I don’t have one by 25 (my extent date), I will be considered in humane and put to death immediately. So as you can imagine, I’m trying to get this over with as soon as possible. The sooner, the better and I’ve tried it ALL, psychics, prayers, everything I can possibly do. I had one trick left and it’s sorcery which is illegal in our world. Witches are put to death immediately but at least, I would be considered normal, report my colour and not be sentenced to death.
So now that I sit in this field, you probably think I’m relieved that this paranormal experience has finally come. But there’s a problem... I was born with purple and I’m supposed to get my colour... but she’s purple? I can’t perminately be a purple... it’s forbidden to have more than one colour because it defines who you are and what you’ll be... it’s society. So what went wrong?
