Exodus

A People, faces pressed into the sand.

They cry and cry,” God please just make this end.”

A Pharaoh, sandals propped upon their backs.

They’re starving as they build his monuments.

A Promise, He will set them free.

LORD will break this bondage of misery.

A Prince, floating in a basket.

Raised by those he’d soon surpass.

A Conflict, the Prince saw too much pain.

Eyes couldn’t stand to watch the fucking suffering.

A Murder, the Prince can’t escape the blood.

He runs to hide, forgetting his people, and starting a new life.

A Sheppard, days had turned to years.

He’s forgotten the faces of those whom he’d held dear.

A Voice, a burning bush calls to him.

LORD commanded him to free His children.

A Pharaoh, proud of his temples.

He denies the Sheppard his People.

A Plague, a series, brings the land down to their knees.

The blood of a lamb has spared this people.

A Sea, standing in the path.

The People, wanting to turn back.

A Hand, raised above the water.

A Sea, it reveals dry land.

A Pharaoh, in a fucking rage.

An Army, in a watery grave.

A People, they give shouts of praise.

A Sheppard, up a mount of flames.

A People, they just couldn’t wait.

A Brother, his many pleas won’t resonate.

A People, melting down their jewels.

An Idol, corrupting wicked fools.

A Sheppard, descends from the mount.

A People, have defiled themselves.

An Idol, shattered dust and gold.

A Tablet, broken law not followed.

A Sheppard, cries before this People.

A Prince, cries before this People.

A Servant, cries before this People.

LORD, cries over this People.

Sin, preys upon this People.

Sin, preys upon our people.

Sin, preys upon a person.

Sin, preys upon us all, friend.

(This one’s for you, Löwe. I really hope you don’t take offense to it. I don’t have an Anti-Semitic bone in me. I actually have a very deep love for the People. I thought you show know that, and I thought this would be a sincere way to show it. I figured this would mean a bit more to you than anyone else I’ve met here. It’s meant to be a thing of connection. We’re all totally fucked. 🫠)
