The Questioning

[So I plan on making a little series based of the little narrative I made titled {It Was Me?} this the 2nd part I’m making of it, I hope you enjoy. Also this will not be a poem sorry but I struggle with making poems well at least more than with narratives]

Jacob was just chilling at home, acting like today had been uneventful. He thought about today grinning on the inside, his younger self sobbing.

Marie walked in, tears running down her face.

Jacob knew why but couldn’t show it. He asked “What’s the matter Marie?”

Marie almost screamed in rage “DO YOU NOT WATCH THE NEWS?”

Jacob responded in a calming town “I don’t watch the news actually.”

Marie responded in between sobbs “ Someone killed Darren, ….. your best friend is dead”

Jacob put on the works, he started fake sobbing.

“W-Wh-Who Who would d-d do do this?” Adding voice cracks to make it more convincing.

Marie and Jacob lay next to each other. Comforting one another, though Jacob doesn’t need any comforting.

Soon Jacob gets a call, it’s the police. Since Jacob was one of the last to see Darren (Though he was actually the last) they need to question him. He quickly heads to the station, to not give off suspicion. He acts like he is sad, concerned and grieving.

The police ask him questions such as, how do you know Darren, where were they when they saw each other, where was he going, would anyone have anything against him etc.

They ended up letting him go. On the way out Jacob was trying to hold back a grin.

The police then question other friends and family. The police were frustrated as they had found no leads.
