POEM STARTER
Compose a poem about false awakenings.
A false awakening is when you wake up within your own dream. Those who experience false awakenings do not realise they’ve woken up inside another dream.
A Day In The Life.
7am,
My alarm screams for me,
To hear the sounds of today.
Empty echos of what once was,
And beckoning calls of what’s to come.
I woke up,
In an empty room,
In my empty life.
7:30,
My shower cleanses my skin,
Washing away all the skins from the night before,
The night you had a hold on me.
9am,
I go to work,
Trapped in a box with others much like me,
Giving people what they want,
But never really reviving anything in return.
8pm,
I go home,
Home to my castle,
Ruins of desolate adventure with oneself.
Midnight,
I sit and wait,
Wait for you to text,
Call.
I just wait for you to open your eyes,
To see me as I see you.
