POEM STARTER

‘All that glitters is not gold.’

Write a poem that begins with this line. What might this common saying lead you to explore?

Truths

All that glitters is not gold, Not all that is true is what you behold. Sometimes what you see in the skies Is nothing but lies. Truth is not always what you’re told, Honesty is a hard virtue to hold. Watch as all you once knew Flies away into skies of cloudless blue. What you once believed Is not how you really perceived. Now you know that you were wrong, Your truths were lies all along. Just so you know, This is an opportunity to grow. Because all that glitters is not gold, And not all that is true is what you behold.
