Write a story where a misunderstanding leads to bad consequences.
It could be a small part of your story, or the whole plot could depend on it.
Idea?
Not so much a story but an idea; a misunderstanding leads to the genocide of an entire race. The main character dies and is given the chance to go back in time to fix the misunderstanding before it occurs. Instead, the main character ends up agreeing with the antagonist.
