_Fire slammed his fist down on the table, _“I cannot and I will not allow another element to join our ranks, we have always been four elements, why should I now suddenly think it’s a good idea for water to have a little buddy, in the form of a fifth element? Ice is just a play on water, are you all seriously this dumb, we have been four elements from the beginning of time, remind me why he gets someone to join his Fanclub and the rest of us don’t.” _Fire sits back down, having made his point and looking around at the other elements to make a rebuttal to his argument, but no one really seemed in the mood._

“Ash. You can’t seriously be going on about this again?” _Said a tall girl with her head in her hands, either very annoyed or fed up, or both, one could not tell. As she stood up and addressed the table there was a grown in her voice that was very much noticeable as a tone of annoyance. “_Mate, ice is joining our ranks, end of conversation, didn’t we discuss this all yesterday?” _She says rubbing her temple and checking the time seeing that is was almost two in the morning and that ice would be joining them at seven, and she hadn’t even slept yet._

_Ash looked ready for a fight, I mean when didn’t he? But Earth put a hand on his shoulder and began to speak in a low calming voice. _“Melody is right, we discussed this all yesterday, it’s too late to change any of this anyways as she is already on the way from The Valley, plus look around, everyone at this table is so tired they are practically falling off there chairs, you called this meeting woke everyone up and you didn’t even have a good point to make.” _Rowan says as calmly as he possibly can, though he spoke a little louder than intended._

_The rest of the table nods in unison an one by one, each of the four elements around the table get up, and make their way to the door, and then to their own individual rooms in the castle._

_Once in bed, Melody, Ash, Rowan and River look up at their bedroom doors. _“Night.” _Melody calls out. _“Night.” _The three boys echo back. Melody turns over, and just like that, falls into a deep sleep that would carry on till morning. Lucky Ash and Rowan were soon to follow, drifting off effortlessly, but River wasn’t so lucky, he tost and turned, trying his very best to get to sleep, though he tried, he couldn’t help but be afraid of what was to arrive tommorow morning in the form of his new apprentice Ice. he didn’t know her name, her favourite snack, or even what her powers included._

_He reaches for the glass on his bedside cabinet and knocks it over, breaking the glass. “Shit.” He uses his magic to extract the water from the glass and pours it into his mouth with his hand. As for the glass, well he cant be assed to pick it all up right now, so he leaves it, having a bad feeling that he might step on the shards tommorow morning._

_River closes his eyes, takes a deep breath in, and lays there for the next half an hour, contemplating Ice, and then eventually he also falls asleep._
