Power Of Tears
I feel my heart slowly breaking
As each tear slowly drips down
I watch as you try to remain
Composed head lifted up,
Shoulders back, and hands quickly
Wiping your eyes dry
It makes me want to disobey the
Rules to break my own composure
And hug you
But I can’t and she is lucky to still
Be alive we aren’t even allowed to
Breathe too deeply and yet no one
Has noticed her brushing her tears
Away, but when they turn they will
Head high, spine straight, eyes
Forward, feet together, hands
Together in front, I remind myself
But still I see her in the corner of
My eyes, oh how I wish I could
Shout and tell her too stop
It would only make things worse if I
Did, the whole group would than
Get in big trouble not just the girl,
It might be okay, since she’s new, I
Try to convince myself
They turn around abruptly and
Immediately notice the young girl
Drying her tears they say nothing,
Instead they drag her out of the room
By her hair
Once they are out I hear sobbing and
Yelling the rest of us remain
Composed even though they are
Gone, there might be cameras
All of the sudden I hear the familiar
Bang sound we’ve all experienced,
Some got shot in the leg others in
Their arms, then the beatings
Well that’s only if you’ve already
Stopped crying, she hasn’t, they
Only stop when you’re barley alive
Now listening to her screams and
Cry’s for help I no longer care if
There is a camera and let a tear
Fall for her,
They say it’s too teach an important
Lesson about the power of tears and
What they can do to you
