I watch across the lake as a swan descends from the heavens

As it approaches the water, wings extend as the swan gracefully kisses the water, settling into a slow drift

It had to be less than 10 seconds, maybe even 9, or 7

But then the water turned black, a dark energy shift

The swan took notice and began to head for shore

I watched dumbfounded, shaken to my core

The swan was within, what must have been 10 feet from land

Until it got yanked underwater, by a bloody black hand
