Together, Together
Together.
With my cigar, your cigarette.
We’ll smoke it out on the porch, the concrete darkened with the cold pitterpattering of the rain.
It’ll fall on my head, my hair sticking to my head as it becomes drenched, then yours will too.
We’ll smoke all our problems away.
When I’m missing my lighter, we’ll crush the drugs and scrape it into a line and snort it up.
I’ll see the world, and you will too.
We’ll get high together.
I’ll hold up your ponytail as you vomit, and you’ll pat my back as I vomit.
We’ll walk each other home, you’ll be looking at me as I walk to my house, and I’ll do the same.
But as you step into your shabby apartment door, I’ll have the last glance before I retreat back.
We’ll love each other in silence.
Saving ourselves for each other,
While the other waits until the others swooped up, like a leaf in the wind.
We’ll stay lonely until the end of time,
Together.
