Lost In A Sea Of Masks
Waves crash and break
Mouth peaking just above the surface
The sea is black like the night
Land is nowhere in sight
There’s no raft, no life boat
Only masks
Each of them a different face
The millions I’ve dreamed up
The many I’ve replaced
Each slapping into the side of my body as I try to swim
Yet there is no swimming
It’s to far out
The masks are all I have left
Each of them speaking a few words
Trying to make sense of what we’ve found ourselves in
There’s no saving me or the masks
Cuz neither of us can swim
