Dante’s Redemption
Th Father of All resides in the Great Hall of Feasts with his two sons. Carved with a chiseled jaw, jet black hair, and striking forrest green eyes, sits Dante on His right side. He is also the one who will eventually take the throne and is first in line for the crown. And to the left of Him sits the younger brother Angelo, hosting a head of rich and tight caramel brown curls, ocean blue eyes, and skin so soft that it almost appears to glow.
“How could you let this happen!” The Father of All bellows to Dante.
With a scowl on his face Dante replies “I’ve been working on redeeming myself for the past century under your guidance Father. She’s been well taken care of and I’ve made sure -“
“Oh we know she’s been well taken care of by you.” Angelo says with a smirk on his face.
Dante slams the fork he was holding down onto the table. A look of rage passes over his face as he lunges across the table towards Angelo.
Surprise etches Angelo’s face as he braces for the impact of his brother, only to never feel anything. As Angelo looks up he sees his Father holding Dante in a tight grip. His jaw tense under the layer of a salt and pepper five o’clock shadow and His mouth is set in a straight firm line.
“You got her pregnant” Father states.
“Yes, but I love her. Olympia is everything I could ever imagine. She’s the most beautiful woman I’ve ever laid eyes on. She’s the kindest person you’d ever meet and she’s -“
“She’s mortal.”
Sighing, Dante replies defeated “Father, I understand why this cannot happen. The birth of a halfling is not ideal. It will be weaker than us. But I vow to train the child, making them the strongest they can be so that they are able to rule like I will do one day.”
Angelo, now sitting straight again, looks to Dante with a crazed gleam in his eye. “You can’t expect the halfling to rule after you. The child will be long dead by the time you would even consider stepping down.”
“That’s not true. We don’t know if it will have immortal life like us. Only time will tell.”
As Dante continues to ramble about his lover and unborn child, Angelo becomes angrier by the second. In his scheme to overthrow Dante and take his rightful place as King, the unborn child was not part of that plan. Angelo wracks his brain quickly for a solution knowing that he cannot be the one to kill Dante since they are immortal. The thoughts start flowing and soon he forms a plan that will ensure Dante won’t be around to claim the throne.
