Incomplete

I’m too impatient to rewrite, so this is just a first draft :/

— — — —

How long have I been asleep? It must have been close to a thousand years.

No one responds anymore.

No one starts talking with me.

No one follows me out the door

into the cool, September breeze.

No one twirls in the sunshine

That enhances your judging eyes.

“Who is that girl?

She’s so incomplete.”

But I’m more complete than you.

Without that little trinket in your hand,

what are you?

what is your life?

oh wait,

there isn’t one.

You’re a drop in the world,

and yet you still shrink.

I’ll work hard,

while you sit there, staring at your screen.

I’ll enjoy the world,

while you brain clouds with useless sounds.

I’ll improve myself,

while you fall into that deep abyss.

I’ll rise to where I’ve never been,

and you’re so far, can’t even fall.

How long have I been asleep? It must have been close to a thousand years.

Funny how the world can change,

With just one small thing

Inside it holds your whole brain

So one day when you grow up

And you use your own two feet,

I hope you might look up from that

And someday you’ll be complete.
