Her golden brown hair falls past her shoulder, to her waist. She pushes it back, pencil in hand as she scratches lines onto the realistic eye she’s been working on. She rounds off the pupil when the front door slams shut. Jolted, she pulls away and stands from the table, tromping loudly to the front door while grabbing an umbrella on her way out of her and her boyfriend’s bedroom. She holds it at her face, sliding along the walls until she reaches the front door. Just as she does, a figure steps out in front of her. She swings the closed umbrella and- “Rylee? What the hell,” Ravi catches it mid-air, only inches from his face while he rubs his eye with the other hand. “Didn’t I tell you no one will randomly walk in on you? Not with bad intentions, anyways.” He pulls the black umbrella away from her and tosses it to the floor, smiling as he pulls her into a hug and kisses her softly, his hand running along the side of her jaw and down her neck, to her hair. As he pulls her in, she sighs. Her hands twined in his hair. They break away breathing hard and Ravi looks in Rylee’s eyes. She pulls away and turns from him. “I saw something today,” Ravi leans against the opposite wall, eyeing her. “Oh yeah?” Rylee continues into the kitchen, closing her eyes as she starts running the sink water, preparing to wash dishes that can’t fit in the dishwasher. “Yeah. It was a… a mirror?” He walks up behind her, grabbing her waist and leaning over her to grab his favorite cup. “Ah-“ Rylee snatches it back. “No sir. I’m washing this. It’s filthy.” “But you gave that to me and I-“ “It can be washed.” “But I-“ “Ravi, ‘m washing it.” “Fine,” he leans back and crosses his arms. Rylee smiles as she scrubs the cup with the soapy rag. “What were you saying, anyways?” “Before I was interrupted. What was I talking about?” He asks me, then repeats it to himself. “Oh, yeah, there was a mirror in the woods. Forest. That. And I was wondering if you think you might wanna go there.” “I ‘tink’ I might wanna go there,” Rylee grins. Ravi tosses her a dirty look and grabs her soapy hands. She squeals and splashes it on his face, he rubs her hands down his shirt to get rid of the suds and kisses her quick before she can dodge it. She pouts as he tugs her away from their house.
