Job Interview
They say you cannot escape death as it comes to you. I did believe that until today.
I ran late to my job interview, it was a rainy day and everyone was at home, the streets were empty, and I didn’t know where I was. It was all blue, sad, depressing. It was the coldest I have ever felt. No living soul passing by and not a sound was made, I could really listen to my heartbeats. I figured I was lost since I’ve never seen this part of town.
“Anyone awake?” I called out but there was no answer.
I tiptoed to a near by trance it was darker than the rest of the street and I could hear the sound of trash bags rattling as if someone was searching for something or someone.
“Hi?” I could see the condensation of my breathing as I stood still trying not to startle IT.
Suddenly a creature holding an axe appeared, there was no face but what looked like an ancient skeleton of some sort. It was wearing worn out patchy hooded gown. I stood still. Don’t move don’t move don’t move…it moved. I ran.
I kept running until I couldn’t breathe but it was still chasing me.
I ran calling for someone to come help.
No one answered.
I then fell.
I grunt in pain to finally see I’ve reached what looked like a busy street where there was actual people who where talking and working, everyone was alive. I look around and this group of people were looking at me weird.
“Are you okay dear?” An old lady makes her way towards me.
“I just escaped my death” I sounded crazy, I didn’t even realise how much I was crying but it didn’t matter.
I was still alive.
