POEM STARTER

'I don't want to stick out like a weed in a field of wildflowers.'

Fiercely green

I don’t belong, never have I,

to this wild field so fiercely green,

that only lives inside of you.

So tell me, darling, who am I,

a wicked weed you’ve never seen,

a lonely tree, a flower blue?

Wildflowers under my steps die,

and we deny what should have been

whenever I run towards you.

So here I am, saying goodbye,

onto your chest my head I’ll lean

to hear your heartbeats strong and true

Forgive me, didn’t want to cry…

I should have known that, in my lonely hours,

I’ll stick out like a weed,

among wildflowers.
