The Meaning Of Life . .
“Holy crap, why are the lights so bright?” I murmur, only to hear my voice ten times louder come out of speakers. There are lots of people, too.
“What the hell is going on?” It takes a minute for my eyes to adjust to the lights and the talking, before I realize I’m standing on a stage, overlooking a crowd of at least two thousand.
I was extremely high up. The people were chanting something . . Lilly? I’m not sure why I’m up here, but I know I should probably be talking.
“Anytime now.” Hissed a dark haired girl on my left. I glanced over at her, confused.
“What do I say?” I whispered back. The dark haired girl looked like I was crazy, I felt a little crazy.
“Lilly, I’m not sure what’s gotten into you, but it took like a million letters and weeks to get you on this stage, so might as well remind you. Your supposed to be telling these people the meaning of life.” My jaw dropped, how does anyone know the meaning of life? I wonder is chips would be an okay answer . .
“But I don’t even know the way of life.” The dark haired girl’s right eyebrow raised.
“I’m too hungover for this, say something!” She whisper yelled. I took a deep breath.
“Um . . Good morning . . America?” I glanced over at the dark haired girl to see if I was doing well. She was shaking her head and her face was in her hands. I was doing pretty terrible. I cleared my throat.
“So I heard I’m supposed to be telling you guys the meaning of life. So . . The meaning of life is . .” _Say chips, say chips, _was all my mind was thinking.
“Chips?” The crowd arupted in laughter.
