POEM STARTER

'That was why he still believed in love.'

Write a poem ending with this line.

July 15

He’d been given up on By his heart and by his soul He’d been lied to His own lips telling him he was done He’d been there When he was dying He’d seen the light The darkness of his eyes He’d been changed That moment When it seemed over A voice spoke out to him A voice much louder than his “Don’t!” It cried “Your worth it! Your worth everything!” And he cried Dropping the knife from his sore throat Letting the blood run down his skin He cried This voice A voice only he heard Cared “You’re worth more than what you see” It whispered, as the boy let the knife slip from his fingers “And it’s gonna be yours one day. The world.” It told him, filling him with hope He was going to die that day July 15 But instead he came alive And that was why he still believed in love
