POEM STARTER

In a poem, write about a love triangle between three people.

Will you write from each person's perspective with unique voices, or omnisciently tell the whole story?

Three Shadows, One Flame”

In twilight’s hush where silence grew,

Three hearts beat—one split in two.

She held his gaze like summer rain,

While he stood still, drawn to her name.

The third, a ghost in candlelight,

Watched their closeness every night.

Noticed glances, hands that strayed,

Words unsaid, yet love betrayed.

He loved her fierce, she loved the other,

A woven thread they tried to smother.

The other’s heart—a cage of steel—

Yet cracked beneath what he could feel.

No villain here, nor righteous crown,

Just lovers lost where lines break down.

A kiss half-given, touch denied,

Secrets sewn in every sigh.

And when the choice hung in the air,

Like stars deciding who to spare,

None were whole, none truly free—

Just three hearts adrift at sea.
