The Owl And The Mouse
The owl sits perched upon the barn door
Waiting ever so patiently for his time to score
The mouse wakes up with an aching in his stomach
He peeks outside to the world and spots a peice of cheese
He knows the cheese would please his need
The owl still watching knows this is his time to feed
He watches the mouse come out into the night
Because of his size the owls knows he can not be quick
So he knows for this he must be slick
He waits until the mouse gets the cheese for he knows too the mouse has needs too
He swoops down and grabs the mouse in his big sharp talons
The mouse squeaks with fear but it is too late
His time has come
His end is near
The owl flys to the nearest tree
And takes his prize proudly
He sits upon the tree with his belly full of delight
And waits silently in the shadows for his time to shine again.
