POEM STARTER
Submitted by herariesmoon
Begin a story or poem with “Every day seems the same”.
Scream “Please” If You Can Hear This
Every day seems the same
Waking up to fall down the spiral
Walking against rods that cut my shins
To a room whose doors are lined with idols
They made it, they did it
So why can’t you?
Now a game of endurance because I can’t stand
My heart cried for rest, I give it guilt-pain in lieu
A five minute second
For my heart to scream into the blue
A prompt to break tides of “It’s all too much to do”
A poem I pray hasn’t gotten to you
It hurts like raw wounds
And salt scrubbed on flesh
Like lovesickness
And failing while doing your best
I want to be enough
I want to numb the pain
I want to take this world away, yet—
Everyday seems the same
