Bitter Fate
I’m drenched in sweat and darkness as I lie in bed alone,
I know they’re watching me, I can fill it in my bones.
I hide beneath the blanket, as if it is my shield,
Waiting for my bitter fate to finally be revealed.
I knew it couldn’t last, it was too good to be true,
I should have listened when he told me, “I’m gonna get you. “
I should have known they’d come, it was only a matter of time,
We all know that’s what happens when you witness a bloody crime.
I hear them closing in now, There’s nowhere for me to hide.
I hear their engine shut off, They’re just right outside.
My door flies off its hinges, and I hear the firing gun
But I keep my bedroom door shut tightly, might the monsters come.
