The city yawns The subway hums The balcony cat stretches out in the first rays of sun A day in the city has just begun People walk and jog and run Some are late some claim it’s fun The tram rattles The cars groan The city is full I stand alone With all this noise It’s easy to forget To sit in silence To ignore the regret When they were here all that noise melted away But now it’s just another loud city day
