The city yawns
The subway hums
The balcony cat stretches out in the first rays of sun
A day in the city has just begun
People walk and jog and run
Some are late some claim it’s fun
The tram rattles
The cars groan
The city is full
I stand alone
With all this noise
It’s easy to forget
To sit in silence
To ignore the regret
When they were here all that noise melted away
But now it’s just ano...
And in the mist, a wave of calm washes over me. Nothing like feeling lost at sea, unreachable to the world, setting out to new, uncharted lands. Where was I before this moment? It hardly seems to matter anymore. I care no more about what happened then, as I do about which direction I take next.
