Goodbye

She sets two bags and a suitcase down in

front of me. “I need you to leave.” She says with a breaking tone. I look up at her with confusion.

We had a big argument but I didn’t think she would kick me out for it.

“What do you mean?” I ask hoping she has a good explanation. “I can’t have you here. Not while I’m going through this.” She stops and takes a deep breathe. “I need to do this alone.” She continued.

I look at her, knowing that there was no way out of it. I had to leave whether I liked it or not. So I grab the two bags with one hand and the suitcase with the other and head to the door. She follows behind but at a safe distance. As if she would cave in and allow me to stay if she was any closer.

I set the suitcase down and open the door. But before leaving, I turn around and look at her with a sorrowful smile with tears in my eyes and say, “I really hope you find what you’re looking for. Even if it isn’t me.” She smiles while holding back her tears.

I grab my suitcase and leave. Closing the door behind me.

Goodbye.
