Chef’s Kiss
“Chef Grand, I have a question.” A young man carefully surveyed each and every word that came out of his mouth. The woman, Chef Grand, grinned revealing her white teeth, “Go on, I’m listening Doug.” What filled his senses was the bittersweet turkey soup, which was in the slow process of being prepared and cooked. Recommend by many of his colleagues with experience, he stared in her hazel brown eyes.
“How do you create such delicious meals?” Chef Grand giggled and paused her working profession. She turned to Doug, a gleaming look rested upon her usual professional face, “That’s for a top Chef to know and for her subordinate to never find out!” A distasteful attitude was all that would be leftover from the unreasonable response. She latched onto his arm, eyes sparkling like diamonds. “Doug how about I show you some tips! You stay after work with me and I give you pointers?” He glanced at her with the littlest of hesitation and screamed, “Yes! Let’s do that!” Chef Grand let go, waving at him while he strolled away to the oven.
Later when the restaurant closed the two met up inside the kitchen. “Are you ready for a lesson with the greatest chef you know?” Doug nodded in anticipation, awaiting instruction alike with a dog. She skipped to the freezer being unable to contain her excitement to reveal her deepest, darkest secrets about her cooking. “We’ll be making an original, so first is the type of meat.” He yelled a quick, okay. After a long time of rummaging around she walked back to him, her eyes tearful, and her hands behind her back. “I’m sorry all the meat has gone bad,” Chef Grand wavered to him.
“Hey, don’t worry about it,” confused he added,” What kind of meat was it anyways?” She chuckled and sighed, ”Human.” Doug, shocked, laughed nervously, “What?” Next thing he knew was he would be stabbed by his superior and cooked into a stew. In the morning, when the restaurant opened once again, that stew was on the menu and served to the hundreds of customers who ordered it. And not a single cook questioned where he had went, understanding he obviously didn’t read the guidelines to the contract he signed. One day, all of her employees will be made into food given to the public to eat.
