WRITING OBSTACLE

Write exactly 100 words about the face of someone that you love.

How can you condense an impression of someone that you love into exactly this word limit?

Eyes Nose Lips

I fell in love with his eyes. Soft and kind. His sepia pools engulf me and drown me in his love. Bright and intense. They give me glimpses into his past one I know to be full of pain and trauma. Despite it all they look upon me with adoration and unbridled compassion. His eyes are a gateway to his clever mind and a window to his full heart.

I grew to adore his Roman nose. At first I didn’t think it suited his youthful face. It is sturdy and prominent, littered with freckles and pierced with iron. However, the more I scrutinized, the more that I analyzed, the more I realized it symbolized his endurablilty and resilience. His nose is a testament to his strength and willpower. Every time my finger trails along the bridge I find myself hoping our children will have it too.

His lips are full and tempting. Always soft, always reassuring. They hide his crooked teeth as he rarely smiles. I try to be funny or feign naivety to see his beguiling smirks as he grapples with patience. His laughter bounces from his mouth like my favorite song that I guiltily repeat.

My love, my first love, my true love. Eyes, nose, lips. You are engraved into my memory, at the forefront of my mind and fill my heart.
