“Do you think the sun gets lonely up there?” Maria said as she laid next to Marshont.

“Do you think her lover is the Moon?”

Marshont says in reply.

The two laid in silence for a brief moment before looking over at one another.

Gazing into each other’s eyes they both smile.

Maria reaches over to grab Marshont’s hand when suddenly they hear a big commotion outside in the courtyard.

The two sit up slightly just enough to look over the rooftop where they hear Destiny and Jabari arguing very loudly in the dead of night.

Under a bright street light the pair stand yelling back and forth.

“How could you do this to me?” Destiny whines as tears begin to fill her eyes.

“Fuck you Destiny!” Jabari screams as he turns to walk away.

CLICK, BANG, BANG, BANG!

Destiny has pulled a mini handgun out of her back pocket and releases the safety letting off 3 shots.

Jabari’s body instantly drops to the ground stiff as a board.

Destiny Calmly walks over to the body standing over it as she points the gun to his head, she hears a faint scream from a few blocks down. Destiny quickly puts the gun away and walks off into the field.

Stunned Maria and Marshont remain quiet as they watch Destiny disappear into the darkness.

“Wha-“ before Maria can finish her sentence Marshont grabs her arm and pulls her back from the ledge.

“Let’s get the fuck outta here” Marshont whispers as he and Maria scuffle to the fire escape.
