Betrayal
I always loved snakes until I woke up with one in my bed.
I shouldn’t have looked through her phone, but I couldn’t shake the feeling that she was hiding something. For months, she had been acting strange. Hiding her phone every time I entered the room. I didn’t like it one bit.
I looked away from the glass screen, the messages were too painful to read anymore.
I glanced over at her.
She was sleeping so peacefully. I didn’t want to disturb her.
I took a deep breath and got out of bed. I switched the lights on and grabbed her purse.
I heard the small moans of someone waking come from under the sheets. Her head popped up and she looked at me with one eye half open.
I threw her purse at her.
“I need you to get out.” I tossed her phone full of horrible messages in front of her as well. “Now.”
