The Lengths You’ve Gone, The Journey You’ll Go

This morning it’s a toucan. Yesterday morning it was a jaguar. Ever since moving into your hut in the tropical rainforest, animals come to see you every morning. At first you feel scared, but as this behaviour continues, you realize the true reason why you moved here.

“I came here to explore,” You say.

You go outside to capture the beauty around you. Ahead of you, lay miles and miles of greenery. The trees have little water droplets dripping down onto the bushes below. Along the bottom of the forest is a stream, which you notice leads to a big, beautiful waterfall. You can hear the gush of water spilling down over the edge. Across the trees, swing a group of orangutans, making their way closer to your house. You look back to see if your door is open, but all you see are the vines and grass growing on the roof. Little sloths crawl along your roof, you gasp at how amazing this is. All the animals in this kingdom of deep jungle are coming over to you. It’s like you’re one of them. You can hear birds chirping, and footsteps walking. The sounds of the jungle are all around you.

Every day after that, you climb deeper through the forest, finding new animals and plants. The animals begin to follow you on your journey, like a big family. Every new animal is a new adventure you go on. Eventually, your hut is no longer your home. You belong to the jungle.
