No Room For Failure
_Chance Lane,_

_I know who you are. _

_You can’t hide forever. _

_We have killed the chef on ‘La Disfrazada’, a large yacht carrying over a two hundred passengers departing from the docks of New York by dawn. We want you to sneak onto the boat, and try stop us. It’s going to be fun!_

_Oh, and one more thing…_

_If you don’t, they all die._

Chance regarded the letter in his hand with trepidation, his hands trembling and heart beating at a rapid pace.
That night, he did as they said.
The boat was silent, only the silent rush of waves filled the area as he made his way to the kitchen, careful not to wake the passengers. If they caught him, he would be in trouble, even if he was trying to save their lives.
The knife was still warm when Chance found it.
He took a deep breath, the tang of blood mingling sickeningly with the scent of saltwater. Turning away from the harrowing scene and glancing around the galley, he sought any sign of life or, at the very least, a lead. His instincts told him that time was running short. The chef lay slumped over his worktop, a clean slit in his throat which lead to pools of blood showering down onto the floor like a gruesome waterfall.
The silence was piercing and tension hung thick in the air. Chance knew one thing for certain—he would stop at nothing to find the answers about the killer’s intentions. He would not fail.
