Unfamiliar

Noctis had gotten her first taste of blood just days after she had turned seven years old. At first she was afraid and had panicked when the boy’s chest stopped moving; giving the indication that he was still breathing. His body was limp and still as unmoving water. Noctis had reached out and touched the still warm blood that spilled from his head, where it landed and cracked on the sidewalk. _After_, she had thrown the rock at his face mere seconds ago. She waited a few minutes until the warmth of the blood froze over with the help of the cold autum air. She waited until the honking of the cars were long gone down the road. She waited until the leaf, the perfect leaf to step over and hear that mesmerizing crunch, fell peacefully to the ground before calling her parents. The lack of emotion in her voice drawed their worry, for Noctis was always so full of emotion. Once her parents eyes landed on the boys battered body their eyes widened in terror. Every curve and line of their face made her heart race. A small sadistic smile slithered across her face.

This was no the first time and this was deffinitely not the last time.
