POEM STARTER
Write a poem about something a young child wants very badly but cannot have.
Consider your language use for the chosen age of the child and choose a specific style of poetry that would be suitable for this prompt.
Toddler, Child, Kid
A child wants freedom,
A child wants to get away from being ‘trapped’.
A child wants to have a job, no school.
A child continuously wants to jump in the pool.
Kids want attention,
Kids want love.
Kids want everything they desire,
They want to be on top of the world, above.
Toddlers want toys,
Toddlers want games.
They never want to share,
Never have their toys the same.
They want what they want,
And they hate the phrase,
“You get what you get and you don’t get upset”.
They want what their mind sets to.
