What does it mean to belong?

I often wonder what it feels like

To fit in, to be wanted

To be heard

To have other people believe in me

To stand up for me

And care for me

Who want to be around me

To find people that will listen

To what I have to say

Who _want_ to hear what I have to say

So I will not be ignored

Not someone who pretends

Pretends to listen

Pretends to to care

Pretends to be a friend

Because they don’t really care

They just want to be heard

To be cared for

To have a friend

But not to be a friend

Just to have a friend

How much will it take

To find someone that truly cares?

Who doesn’t talk about me behind my back

Who doesn’t let me fend for myself

And abandons me when I need them most

Someone who will support me

Make me feel loved

And seen

And only then will I feel

Like I truly

Belong.
