Fear

People have always said that to get over your fears you have to face them, so that’s why I’m standing at the edge of the tallest cliff in Scotland, looking over the edge into the murky waters below, a tingly feeling in my toes, and an aching feeling in my chest.

I look over the edge one last time and close my eyes, I can hear the thudding of my heart, feel the breeze as it blows my hair behind me, and I can hear the sound of the deathly currents below.

I take a few steps back and jump about to get adrenaline into my system.

I take a deep breath and run.

I can feel my feet hitting the ground throughout my whole body, the vibrations travelling from my feet as they hit the ground to my chest and then to my head.

I keep running till I cannot feel the ground beneath me anymore, I’m falling through the air and into the freezing cold water below.
