Warmth In The Ice

It’s so cold,

It’s always been,

Maybe if we went the other way

It wouldn’t be so.

My eyes see blue,

My hands feel knives,

My bones feel earthquakes,

And my skin feels stinging pain.

I dig through the knives, looking

For something, I do not know what,

Suddenly I feel something,

Warmth in the ice.

I move my body

To find the warmth,

Once I find it

I know I’m not going back.

Somewhere I learned

That things will get better,

I never believed it

Until I found the warmth in the ice.
