I had a good definition,
in the sense that it itched the ear,
made me smile a bit,
but listening to myself
now makes me sick
—— and I’d not dare describe it
poetry - POE-et-trEE:
1.) n. - the art of expressing one’s soul through the written word
_ Ex: The man was moved by the child’s poetry._
2.) n. - A state of existence in which a being becomes trapped in the articulation of things that go beyond all manner of natural comprehension
_ Ex: The man couldn’t decide if poetry were a blessing or a curse_
3.) v. - to fail on a recurrent basis to quantify the precise thoughts one attempts to convey; typically in a beautiful and/or horrid fashion
_ Ex: The young woman knew there was something more to it all, yet poetry gave her only temporal relief from the thought_
4.) n. - Oh the LORD,
whom made that first poem,
o’er the void,
His own Name etched onto the earth,
then when His piece was finished,
the poem came up with a deep breath,
weeping as a babe,
reaching for His heart and warmth,
with tongues set to not structure or rhyme,
but to a language of perfect harmony
that men have forgotten.
Ex: My God, my God, take from me this poetry!
