Underestimated Pt 12

I began to hear his heartbeat loudly. I smiled. His head on top of mine and sighed.

“You never told me what you thought of your wedding outfit…” he mentioned.

I stiffened.

“Uh, well it was nice. Maven liked it and thought it would be great…but it showed my scars too clearly.”

His arm ran up and down my shoulder.

“I can see why you wouldn’t like it. But, you still would look amazing regardless what shows. I think you look good in anything. And I’ve seen you in a hospital gown.” His chuckle ran through her ears like a bell telling the hour.

“Thanks,” I blush. “You looked super good in yours!”

I looked up at him to watch his reaction. Blood ran to his cheeks and he looked at me.

“Thanks. It needs to be tailored but that’s ok.”

An hour later Kile was back in his room and I was in mine. Maven came in.

“Coraaaa, hiiii!” He giggled as he tiptoes strangely over to me.

“What’s got you like this?” I laughed as he sat on my bed.

Maven grinned evilly and I scooted backward.

“So. You and Kile huh?” His eyebrows wiggled.

I turned redddd. I threw a pillow at his face hiding my face in my hands.

“Shut up,” I laughed shyly.

“Never. Also I have the new dress!”

“Ok! What color is it?” I wondered getting up to walk around.

He pulled out a long bag that had a zipper. He set it on the bed. I watched as he unzipped it to reveal a long, forest green silky dress. It had a tie for the neck. As he pulled it out I noticed a tied open back. I smiled.

“Go try it on I’ll wait outside the door.”

“Oh! Don’t tell Kile. I want it to be a surprise.” I blushed.

“You got it, sis,” he laughed.

He hadn’t called me that since before I was in the hospital.

Once I had it on I stepped over to the mirror I had.

The dress fit tightly around my hips and waist. The neck was tied and I looked like a princess. I wondered what I’d do with my hair when I called maven in.

When he walked in, a smile grew strongly on his face.

“Cora. You look like a princess. It’s perfect. May I send a photo to Amelia?”

I nodded and he snapped a photo.

That night for dinner I sat with Kile and I was nodding off. When suddenly, a question struck me. From someone.

“Will your scars ever dissapear?”
