POEM STARTER

Write a poem on the theme of sacrifices.
the end
loving
giving
caring and supporting the claimed heart of another
what’s there to give if they cannot seem to find purpose from your sweetness?
what a sacrifice
another chose another and another after you
pieces of fragile skin and flesh that you’ve given your brain to
and you suddenly become a helpless pondering thought
why’d they have to hurt the one willing to give all?
a cramped room with only eyes and love and ears and warmth of arms wrapped one another
what describes pain when you are suddenly aching for the moment they’ve come alive for you?
and sacrificing another for the resting heart you gave and gave and now given to another
what’s the fault in it?
fault lines closing and wounds exploding in two different places
crippled stomach aches when you think of the only constant you’ve anchored
in between the secrets and confiding in another
but protection is a sacrifice apparently
and understanding
giving all of you to care for them the way you aim to receive it back
but it’s not that simple
no one loves the same
you’ve learned that the painful way
like fire and twisting knives in your misunderstood chest
and your heart is bleeding with the blood they’ve never shed for you
what’s left of you?
what’s left to give when all it does is hurt your sensitivities?
worthy and open
sacrifice and a chance to make decisions right
“your fault, your fault, your fault, all your fault lines opening and your true shame is showing.”
what a pathetic ride
what a pathetic statement when it’s no longer in your way
they’ve done nothing but made you disappear
and that is the loss of them
