Rain soothes me

It gives me relief

But it can get you wet

The water can rise above you

Where you cannot stop it

Struggling to breathe and keep afloat

You try to stop the rain

But it always comes back

Again and again

Stronger than before

Until one day

It rains

But quicker than the times before

Higher than normal

Until you are under

Your head pounding

Begging for oxygen that your body needs

But you can’t get it that oxygen

You cannot simply ask for help

So you struggle daily just to breathe
