POEM STARTER
Submitted by M. Bonnaire
Imagine someone has lost all hope.
Write a free verse poem inspiring them that life is still worth living.
Flame Blown Out
There once was a spark, a burning flame.
A light that flickered, wild and untamed.
But as time kept ticking, it wore it thin.
The silence grew and doubt crept in.
I’ve tried and tried, and gave it all I’ve got.
It seems like everyone but me gets a slot.
Pushing and pushing until I can go no further.
My mind punishing me with its constant murmur.
I guess my life is here at rock bottom.
Slithering threw the depravity of Sodom.
My heart now stumbled, and ceased to fight.
All hope withdrew, consumed by the night.
