What seems silent but wreaks havoc in the mind

The calm, stillness of a desolate grove.

What could be lurking within?

Perhaps, peaceful creatures simply wishing to survive?

Or maybe those who wish to take away the life of those aforementioned?

Though it seems quiet, if you listen closely there is a million beings singing their songs in hushed voices.

Scattered through the timbered-scape, trying to avoid life-threatening confrontations.

But still singing, nonetheless.

A song filled with hope and familiarity

Intending to reach the ears of others like them.

A shout-out through the trees, telling their kind “I’m here! Please find me!”

But will they be found by friend or foe?

By prey or predator?

Perhaps it is better to stew in a solitary silence…
