Comfortable Silence
The way your bright, happy eyes wander to me. How you smile and look away. The sun kisses your shoulders. I find myself thinking, “If only it were me”. I stare when you’re looking and when you’re not. I can’t help it. No, my love, we don’t need to talk. Although, I love your voice and the way you smile when you say those three little words. The way my name sounds on your perfect lips, like a chorus in perfect timing.
You were built for me, and me for you.
Without a word, I’ll lean forward. I’ll say your name and you’ll smile. My lips will meet yours, hand in hand. When I pull away, we’ll giggle. “What do I call this?” you might wonder…
I call it Comfortable Silence, because I needn’t a word to know you love me.
