Harbingers of War
She wanted the world, so dared him to try
To push the red button without asking why,
To choose a small country, defensless and weak,
And make it fight monsters, its freedom to keep!
He wanted the blood, so dared her to see
How much of the killing can mankind agree!
She did win the challenge, then dared him to turn
The world upside down, then just watch it burn!
He felt a bit lonely, the Earth was all gray,
So dared her to find a new, better way
To restore the good, the humanity…
But she raised her shoulders: “it’s all gone, you see…”
I think we were playing a dangerous game
Where no one is winning, so don’t take the blame!
Another round starts in just a few years,
When mankind, again, succumbs to their fears…
I dare you to bring me an ocean of tears!
