Titans (Chapter 1)
“Centuries ago, we lived among human. But then a war shook the ground, and we knew it was time to go back home. We live in a realm that only magical beings could be able to see. Some say that children can see us, but as the grow up, they become blind. But only to the magical.
I remember the early Chinese people praising us. They still do, but some believe us to be a myth. But hidden outside of the human control, where everyone wants to be the leader, the master of the puppets, we let our world be what it wants to be.
It may not be as neat as you hoped it would be, but it’s something to admire. But before, when we still lived with you all, things in your world were perfect. You were all happy. We were all happy. That was until a tyrant arrived.
His name was Derek. He was a dragon with power, power, taken from the hands and Claws of both human and dragon alike. Like always, we took our sides. But we didn’t know at the time that he was using us as his puppets.
He killed off a whole species of dragon, perferably the most powerful type, just to make himself stronger.
And as always, humans find a way around the rules. Many of our kinds were slaves. Hunted and killed just for the sake of making humanity greater.
We left. The world would never be the same. All thanks to my brother. We shut the realms. All the humans lost the magic and forgot we were there. But that was a good thing. Or so I thought.
But then my brother opened the gate, and humans and dragons fought till the end of time.”
I shut the book. Star jerked her head. “Apa, will there ever be a war? Is the book true?”
I grunted. “No one is for sure. Little evidence. The only species we are for sure about are ourselves.”
“I hope so.” Star turned in the bed. The village was quite tonight and Star stared out the window. “Don’t close the window tonight, the air is just right.”
“No worries.” I gave her a peck and turned out the light.
That night, it was silent indeed, but just a quarter after to nine, the silence was broken with the instant sound of an explosion. And the peaceful village that held all the species Sun dragons suddenly ceased to exist.
Then the world of dragons suddenly became aware that a world was coming. They could tell all because of a bombing that spared no lives. They knew it when they heard the news. They knew it when there was silence. Nothing.
They knew that they were too late.
