POEM STARTER

‘The absence is still keenly felt, but now the gaps can be refilled.’

Write a blank verse poem that closes with this line. Blank verse poetry doesn't rhyme, but normally uses strict structure to build a melody through rhythm.

the him i regret

even while you’re gone

there’s some days

when my heart still aches

for your touch.

you’ve caused me so much pain,

you left me when i was at my worst.

but even today, with someone in your old place.

there’s still a dull ache at the sound of your name.

you’re friends with my friends,

i cant get away from you.

i really wish i could forget you,

and focus on who i have.
