To be shooting up a school

To be killing 4 human beings

To be in jail

14 years old is not very old.

And yet

When I see the news

There was another school shooting

And the culprit was a child.

What is this cruelty that we’ve been taught

As students in schools

And children in homes

Homes that should be teaching kindness

What does this say about America?

A 14 year old should not be able to buy a gun.

A 14 year old should not be able to hold a gun.

What does this say about gun control?

When are we going to talk about this?

When someone attempts to assassinate a presidential nominee?
