Like Untold Nightmares

Whispers that come in the night,

often carry further than those in the day.

Secrets born in darkened blight,

would burden you with great dismay.

Oaths that I had sworn to keep,

Creeping in, take hold of me.

Vows I fucking had to break,

will break me up, I hesitate.

…for a moment… in that moment… I find out that…

this dawn was a lie,

another twisted fucking shadow in disguise.

It’s true, but you can only smell all of the dead flies.

I can’t prove it, so be careful, don’t compromise.

So when the aging clock bleeds, we will tell,

the hours pouring down, “I’m sorry and be well.”

And once this pain is finally over I should see,

That I’m the one who fucking caused all of this misery.

Every promise fall like ash,

If I could catch them all I swear to you,

I’d fix the past.

If I could find a way I know I’d make it back,

But I fucking know

that this last breath just won’t last.

Like untold nightmares, we will keep this to ourselves, hang it up and place it neatly on the shelf.

Check it daily to remind you this hell,

Before you walk away just always say farewell.
