The Waves
The roaring waves
The roaring of my heart
Both racing
Rushing
Both fighting for my life
These waves are all I see
Horrifying at first
But once you realize what’s at stake it doesn’t seem so bad
In the middle of these roaring waves
With my heart beating faster and faster
My kicking legs sinking
Slowing
But the urge to fight speeds
The urge to sink sinks in my heart
What have I done?
It was a petty reason to crash our ship
But I don’t deserve this
Kicking harder than I have kicked before
Heart beating faster than it has ever beat before
I fight
I fight these waves
With the urgency to survive while the others didn’t
I kick
I kick
I swim
I-
Freedom at last
never thought it’d be like this-
