Stuck Behind An Open Door

Voices clouded her sight

The vastness of the world

Was the alleyway of twists

And turns. Trapped in a maze

Couldn’t move forward

Or retrace her steps

She sat there alone on the curb

Headphones on so loud that

she couldn’t Hear her own voice

Changed her appearance

So much over the years

It was hard to tell who she once was

She didn’t know what path to take

Pressure surrounded her at all sides

She fell victim to her own mind trapped

Even though God gave her the key

Once she decided to turn off the negative

Songs did the eternal screams of not good enough cease to exist. Once she opened her Bible again did the fear leave

Like a new dawn approaching the shadows vanished from her. The vastness of the world

Didn’t scare her no more.

She heard a small voice like one she had known a long time ago.

It spoke quietly to her soul “follow me,”

With a new found passion she got off the curb guided by the Holy Spirit she found her way home.

And what if the dangers of this world? Surely she’ll stumble. She did not for God was with her every step of the way

Her future became brighter as she and God became close friends together they grew

God was her compass in a vast world

A father and a friend. She was God’s missionary a light to spread to the world around her

So that others may know God.
